With the city still recovering from the riots, there's not much that he can do by way of shopping. He could've treated Slaine and Yona to dinner, but he wants something a little more... permanent. Something that alludes to a sense of stability.

Sorry to hear that you almost died! And that your house almost burned down. There's no really putting it nicely, because that really sucks. I'm glad that you two can at least stick together in this difficult time. Of course, you're free to rely on yours truly, King JJ, for help whenever you need it. [This is...honestly one of the nicest things Slaine's ever gotten in his life. He's touched beyond words and after reading the note over a few times, he finally is able to pick up his phone and send JJ a few words of thanks.]
